How to operate Wemo Light Switch with Google Home - Native Support

Ok. So today Google Home got official support for Wemo Devices. No more IFTTT integration required.
Google Home made is very simple to integrate Wemo devices.

Here are the steps:

  1. Go to Google Home App and click on Home Control from the left panel.

  2. You would get on to a page showing list of support devices. Touch the Wemo Icon.

  3. It will then prompt you to verify Wemo. Turn any device ON or OFF

  4. Google Home gives 2 minutes for this verification.

  5. Once you have turned ON/OFF one of the Wemo Devices, you would need to verify that if you were the one who switched ON/OFF the device.

  6. Once verified, it would discover all Wemo devices on the same Wifi network and list them down.

  7. Next you can now assign rooms to each of the Wemo devices for easy operation and organization.

  8. Once complete, it would then allow you to control Wemo devices based on their names/location. You can later change their nick names to call them with a different name.

    1. Doesn't look like wemo link is supported, and now it's end-od-life I guess it's unlikely to be later. FML!

  4. I have not tried that. Wemo bulbs usually work via Wemo Link hub so might not be supported yet.

  6. Tried this but it keeps saying there was a problem. Try again. Does the google home app have to be on a certain type of phone or iPad?
